With Premier League Cricket’s global popularity, young people worldwide have had a tremendous opportunity to exhibit their cricket abilities on a vast stage.

Domestic T20 cricket contests have increased the standard for all cricket Nation’s selection committees.

The National T20 Cup, which began in 2005 and is one of Pakistan’s earliest cricket leagues, is the country’s first significant T20 tournament. However, following the success of the IPL in India, several other countries, including Pakistan, decided to launch their respective professional Twenty20 cricket league.

The PSL currently has six teams. They are:

  • Islamabad United
  • Multan Sultans
  • Lahore Qalandars
  • Peshawar Zalmi
  • Quetta Gladiators
  • Karachi Kings

Hey folks! Welcome to our GamePlan Today Talks. In this blog, we are into the top 5 batters with the highest batting average in PSL.

The batters with the highest average in the PSL and played at least ten innings are listed below:

  1. Tim David
  2. Babar Azam
  3. Jason Roy
  4. Tamim Iqbal
  5. Luke Ronchi

Tim David (Avg:50.12 )

With an average of 50.12 over 13 innings, the Singaporean-Australian batsman, who MI just purchased for $8.25 million in IPL 2022, leads the list.

Tim David is now a Pakistan Super League’s Multan Sultans member.

Tim David is having a great season in the PSL 2022 (Pakistan Super League 2022). In the PSL’s eighth encounter, David had storming innings over Islamabad United, scoring 71 runs within just 29 balls.

David was recruited by the Lahore Qalandars as a substitute for Joe Burns in May 2021 by PSL Mini Replacement Draft. However, it was for the duration of the delayed 2021 Pakistan Super League. Tim David is a force to deal with.

David smacked 4 fours and 6 sixes in his inning. David astonished the fans with hitting and fielding for the Multan Sultans this season by hitting 60 runs with fours and sixes in his innings. It was 60 runs in 12 balls, for a total of 71 runs in 29 balls.

Because of David’s storming innings, Multan Sultan’s squad could score 217 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In addition to Tim David, Riley Rossouw played a 67-run innings off 35 balls.

David hammered the bowlers in this match at Karachi, Pakistan, and also struck six fours and six sixes throughout the innings. Not only that, but during his innings, David stunned everyone by hitting towering sixes.

David smashed a six that flew out of the ground in the second ball of the 14th innings, which Shadab Khan delivered. The Pakistan Super League also posted the footage.

Let us inform you that Australian Tim David also has qualified for the IPL 2022 auction or IPL Mega Auction 2022. Therefore, the franchisee would also bid totally on him at this auction.

Perhaps David was the most costly seller in the auction this season. However, his performance in the PSL appears to be encouraging. David’s starting price remains at Rs 20 lakh.

Babar Azam (Avg:43.25)

It’s unimaginable without Babar Azam’s presence on the highest average list.

In the PSL, the number one batsman in T20 Internationals & ODI is ranked second in terms of average. Off 63 innings, he has a 43.25 batting average and has scored 2336 runs.

The captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, Babar Azam, had a fantastic year last year. He was also honoured by the Pakistan Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council for his outstanding performance.

However, Babar Azam’s new year is not working well currently. Babar Azam, the captain of the Karachi Kings, has struggled to create an impact with the bat in the Pakistan Super League. Yet, around the same time, the team is trying to win.

The great batter Babar, who set the record for most scores in the Pakistan Super League’s history, has had a poor season in the game’s seventh season. Only 194 runs have gone off his bat during the first five matches of the season, and he has only one half-century.

Babar Azam’s slowdown batting has been the most concerning aspect of his innings. The captain of Karachi and the top-ranked T20 batter openers for his side, but he has been unable to quicken the run rate. His 194 runs came at a strike rate of just 118 percent. Fakhar Zaman of the Lahore Qalandars, on the other hand, has the best score of 286 runs in the competition, with a strike rate of 178.

Babar Azam’s best batting score was 90 (not out) over Peshawar Zalmi. Despite this, his squad was unable to win. Islamabad bowled him after scoring only 8 runs. Even as captain, Babar has failed to inspire his team, as they have lost all five of their matches.

Tamim Iqbal (Avg:37.81)

Even though the Bangladeshi opener has not played in the PSL for two years, he is ranked third. In addition, he was among the batters with the highest average in the tournament.

He cannot participate due to his participation in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Tamim Iqbal has been a rock for the team he plays for. Even if his strike rate isn’t the best, the man’s overall average is impressive.

Iqbal has participated in 20 innings for two PSL teams. Scoring runs at an average of 37.81, which is essential for any squad right at the top of the order. The strike rate of 113.08 may not be fair to the T20 format, but he has scores to show for it.

Tamim has a total of 605 runs in the competition after only a few games. Despite not scoring a century in the match, Tamim has four half-centuries under his name. The Bangladeshi international has the best score of 80* runs.

Jason Roy (Avg:37.77)

Fourth on the list is England’s Opener, who missed the 2019 World Cup following an injury.

Jason Roy has pitched 18 innings and earned 629 runs with a 142.30 strike rate. So far in the PSL seasons, he has achieved 5 half-centuries and 1 century. Gujarat Titans purchased him for 2 crores in the upcoming IPL 2022 season.

In a Pakistan Super League encounter between Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars, England’s Jason Roy demolished the latter’s bowling attack with a quickfire 116 off just 57 balls.

The Qalandars had reached 204/5 in 20 overs after batting first, but Roy’s magnificent knock, which included 11 fours and 8 sixes, stole the game away from them.

In the 16th over, he was ultimately captured by Haris Rauf off David Wiese’s delivery. However, Roy had snatched it and could track down the guy at short fine leg.

The Gladiators won a challenging game with just 3 balls to remain, and 7 wickets in hand, and Roy’s outstanding effort deserves all of the credit and praises.

Before this vital encounter, Roy had acquired the Quetta Gladiators squad on February 13, 2022. Quetta’s presence influenced their preparations since he added a new dimension to an otherwise mundane Gladiator side.

When it comes to T20 batting, Jason Roy is right in the heart of it. With his aggressive style and consistency at the top of the lineup, the right-hander could easily fit into any T20 team, which he has done.

Roy has earned a name for consistency in the PSL and scoring runs at a 37.77 average. He has appeared in 15 games for two clubs, demonstrating his dependability. Aside from that, Jason owns 459 runs at the top of the order in the competition.

Roy may not have hit a century, but his 128.93 strike rate is what clubs look for in the first hitter. In the competition, the right-handed hitter has 4 half-centuries, the best of which is 73 (not out). If he joins the PSL, he could contribute to the total over time.

Luke Ronchi (Avg:36.42)

There had been a time when wicketkeepers were merely good keepers and not much of a batter, but things have changed, and keepers have evolved into an opening batsman capable of scoring a lot of runs quickly. Luke Ronchi is one of the wicketkeepers who has altered the measurements.

Luke has been the driving force behind Islamabad United’s one PSL triumph. He was the kiwi wicketkeeper-batsman who appeared in 31 PSL matches. Scoring runs at an average of 36.42, demonstrating consistency and quality, placing him among the PSL’s top standards.

In the PSL, Ronchi has been significantly more effective, hitting 1020 runs with a strike rate of 166.12. Even though he has yet to hit a century, Ronchi has 10 half-centuries in PSL history.

Unfortunately, he has withdrawn from the event and will not get the highest average count.
